Description: Each yield curve environment presents different challenges associated with investing tax-exempt bond proceeds. This session will cover basic arbitrage rebate and yield restriction compliance concepts and apply them to investment strategies for project, reserve, debt service, and other bond proceeds accounts in order to maximize your retainable investment income.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define positive arbitrage and negative arbitrage.
  • List examples of exceptions to arbitrage rebate.
  • List types of structured investments.
  • Identify differences between active management and passive strategies.

Field of Study: Finance. Qualifies for 1 hour of CPE credit. No advanced preparation needed.
